Free NSE EOD and historical data downloader. Use this application to download EQ, DER, RDM, WDM, CBM bhavcopies and individual stocks data.
Using this application you can download EOD data as well as data for user defined historical periods. You can download and group the downloads based on year, month and alpha numeric values.
NSE data downloader gives user flexibility to use three different modes. In default mode historical bhavcopies are downloaded and grouped based on year and month. Also NSE stock list is updated and data for all stocks is downloaded and grouped based on alpha numeric names. On subsequent downloads the security data is appended to already existing datas. In archives download mode application gives user complete flexibility to decide what to download and between which intervals. In securities download mode user has the optin to enter valid NSE symbol or select from the preconfigured symbol list and than download the data for his desired period. He can also update the NSE stock list and download all of them at once.
This is written in java and requires jre1.6.0_01 or above. This application is targetted for windows based system only. It is not tested for *nix based systems. This application is written using eclipse IDE and installer created using fat jar plugin and NSIS.

Double click nseDataDownloadersetup.exe this will install the application.
Whenever required you can un-install the application.
Click Uninstall nseDataDownloader in the program menu under bhavyait shortcut.
It will than show the path from where it is getting installed. Just click "Uninstall" button if you want to continue else click "Cancel".
It will than completely uninstall the nse data downloader.
Step by step details for installation, un-installation and usage.
Double click the "nseDataDownloadersetup.exe" and click "Install" button.
NSE data downloader gets installed in folder C:\Program Files\bhavyait\nsedd.
Once installation is complete click "Next" button to go to next step.
Click "Finish" button to complete the installation process.
C:\Program Files\bhavyait\nsedd after installation has nsedd.exe as well as uninstall.exe. This are used for running and uninstalling the application.
Shortcuts of the NSE data downloader application and its uninstallation is placed under "bhavyait -> Run nseDataDownloader & Uninstall nseDataDownloader" under Programs menu of windows as shown below.
Click "Run nseDataDownloader" under bhavyait from programs menu to launch the data downloader application.
Below screen is the main screen with left view, right top view and right bottom view as main views.
This view is download view where various options for data download reside.
This view is download logs view where various actions, download items and exception is printed.
This view is web browser view where product related links and announcements are placed.
Folder and settings file
When NSE data downloader is run for the first, it creates the required folder structure and settings file as shown above.nseddsymbols.csv is created when user clicks "Update NSE Symbols" or uses "Default" download category option. Based on download category selection, different subcategories gets activated or deactivated. The groups with dark grey color are inactive for the selected option and does not apply to it. For e.g in "Default" selection all options are disabled and only "Download" and "Cancel download" buttons are active. Similarly for "Archives" option symbols block and alphanumeric grouping is disabled.

The NSE data downloader comes with three top level options. User can perform download using

3. Security Price Volume Data download category.
We will discuss in detail below all three options, how they work, where is downloaded data placed and its advantages.
